I normally wouldn’t expect to see the Assisted Living Facility (ALF) administrator serving meals, even bussing tables, and, ye gods! Washing dishes! And there was the RN joining in on the fun. Is this our ALFs version of Undercover Boss? It couldn’t be: they were uncovered (everyone knew their true identities.)

So, what explained this Trading Places? The Administrator and RN didn’t look like Dan Aykroyd nor Eddie Murphy. A quick look around showed a shortage of regular personnel – we were short staffed. During the critical morning rush hour.

The shifting of roles was team work. Pulling together in time of need.

How nice it would be to have the Other duties of the Job Description performed when there was no emergency.

Well – maybe all except the wiping of asses. It takes an experienced Caregiver to do that right.
