More than 118,000 Montana Caregivers need your help

Urge Your Montana State Legislators to Support Family Caregivers

When you are caring for a family member or friend with serious health issues, it can be tough if someone is hospitalized. When it is time to be discharged, the situation can be confusing for everyone. AARP is urging the legislature to make things easier for family caregivers by passing HB 163.

Support Montana's Caregivers
House Bill 163, the Montana Caregiver Act, sponsored by Representative Geraldine Custer (R) of Forsyth, helps family caregivers when their loved ones go into the hospital and as they transition home.

It allows hospital patients to designate a caregiver upon admission and provides the designated caregiver with the opportunity to receive crucial information on the post-discharge needs of the patient.

Send an email to your Montana State House Representative asking him or her to vote for HB 163. Or call 1-406-444-4800 to leave a message for your State House Representitive to vote for HB 163.

Currently, 118,000 Montanans care for a relative or friend. Please make their lives a little easier by asking your State House Representative to support HB 163, The Montana Caregiver Act.
