2015 Chapter Officers Installed in Kansas City

The installation of the 2015 chapter officers for AARP Mid-City Chapter #2024 in Kansas City was conducted by Frainlin Walker, community advocate and former AARP Missouri Executive Council member.

The new officers are: Octavia B. Cardoza, president; Alta Fritz, vice president; Pauline Stone, secretary; Mary Jo Simmons, correspondence secretary; and Joyce Guess, treasurer.

The chapter plans numerous community service projects during the year, including toiletry donations to the City Union Mission and canned goods donations to Harvesters The Community Food Bank,

The chapter meets in the fourth Thursday of each month, except July and August, at the Southeast Public Library, 63rd St. and Swope Parkway, from 12:30 - 2:00 p.m.

During the installation meeting, two new members, Gladys White and Floydetta B. Young, were welcomed. The meetings are free and open to the public. "All are welcome," said Cardoza. "Bring a friend and a recipe!"
