AARP Andrus Award for Community Service Nomination Deadline Extended

The deadline for AARP’s most prestigious and visible award- the AARP Andrus Award for Community Service has been extended to Monday, August 1, 2016. This award recognizes individuals who are sharing their experience, talent and skills to enrich the communities in ways that are consistent with AARP’s mission, vision, commitment to volunteer service and that inspire others to volunteer.

Award Eligibility Guidelines


  • Nominees must be 50 years or older.
  • The accomplishments, achievements, or service on which the nomination is based must have been performedon a volunteer basis, without pay.
  • The accomplishments, achievements, or service on which the nomination is based must reflect AARP’s vision and mission.
  • Couples or partners who perform service together are also eligible; however, teams are not eligible.
  • The recipient must live in Oklahoma.
  • This is not a posthumous award.

 

Again, applicants must be 50 years old and do not have to be AARP members. The deadline for nominations is MONDAY, AUGUST 1. Please submit nomination to msourjohn@aarp.org or call 1-405-715-4474.
