AARP Idaho hosts Sen. Crapo for Telephone Town Hall

As Idaho's senior senator, Crapo is the Ranking Member (lead Republican) of the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee which addresses expansion of home ownership, regulatory issues, trade and securities and investment policy matters.  In addition, Crapo serves as the third-ranking Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, giving Idaho a strong voice in matters pertaining to federal tax policy, certain health and human services programs, implementation of reciprocal trade agreements, other trade and customs and mandatory spending programs, including Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.

In 2011, Senator Crapo was highly visible as a member of the "Gang of Six" and their bipartisan efforts to address the national debt.

Crapo will be one of the 21 members of the U.S. Senate who will serve on the conference committee that will reconcile budgets from the Senate and the House by December 13 under the compromise approved recently that reopened the federal government.
