Alexandria residents are invited to a presentation on creating livable communities, Wednesday, June 21 at Beatley Central Library at 5005 Duke St., Alexandria, VA from 10 a.m. to noon. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m, and light refreshments will be served.

AARP has helped the state of Virginia provide citizens with livable communities ever since its creation in 1958, and thanks to both AARP and Senior Services of Alexandria, residents will have a chance to offer their ideas and suggestions on how to improve the city and the communities surrounding it.

AARP estimates that one in five adults will be over the age of 65 by 2030, with most choosing to remain in their established homes and community.

This statistic illustrates the importance of this opportunity to voice any concerns and possible solutions that might improve the quality of life for resident Alexandrians.

It is crucial that towns like Alexandria remain livable for Virginians of all ages, and the commitment to do so must be continually nurtured.

Much-needed feedback from residents is essential in making improvements where necessary, and this event provides the perfect opportunity to do so.

For more information on this upcoming event and how to RSVP, please call 703-836-4414, ext. 110.
