AARP Wednesday Mornings
Take a behind-the-scenes look at Pacific Science Center, docented by Pacific Science Center Staff. Beginning January 2014, Pacific Science Center will open early on select Wednesday mornings to offer AARP members (and up to 3 guests) exclusive access to these rare peeks at what it takes to bring science to the public.
Upcoming “AARP Wednesday Morning” events include:
The Tropical Butterfly House
January 29 and February 19
See the life cycle of a butterfly from chrysalis to emerging. Engage with our life sciences and horticulture staff to find out how they design the optimal ecosystem to help our butterflies survive and thrive.
The Willard Smith Planetarium

After a private show for AARP members, you’ll have the opportunity to interact with our planetarians and sate your curiosity about the mysteries of astronomy.
Professor Wellbody’s Academy of Health and Wellness
February 12 and March 5
Take a private tour of Pacific Science Center’s first new exhibit in a decade. Find out how the experts behind the exhibit decided how to bring the science of wellness to the public, and what they hope we learn from it.
