AARP Nebraska is looking for a few good volunteer leaders. If you have the time and passion for making an impact on the lives of people across our state, then we have the perfect opportunity for you!

The Executive Council features the highest ranking volunteer positions in the state. This group makes strategic decisions on our priorities, shaping the work of AARP throughout Nebraska. This team works in close partnership with the AARP Nebraska State President and AARP State Director and staff.

  • Provide input on strategies for accomplishing goals outlined in the state plan.
  • Work in partnership with State President and state office staff and leadership volunteers in the development, implementation and monitoring of the state plan.
  • Serve as the lead in areas such as state advocacy, diversity outreach, volunteers and member engagement.

The AARP Nebraska Executive Council has three immediate openings:

  • Volunteer State Coordinator - focus is volunteer recruitment, training and recognition.
  • Multicultural Member Engagement Advisor for Hispanic/Latino – focus is establishing connections with state and community leaders and developing ideas for outreach, programs and events.
  • Communications State Coordinator - focus is communicating with people age 50 plus; includes writing blogs for AARP State Web Page, active on social media.

We are seeking real go-getters who are willing to share their talent and skills to help accomplish our state goals. You don’t have to be an expert in all things AARP, but it helps to have some professional leadership experience under your belt.

“We will definitely work, but we’ll have a good time together – or as I call it – ‘fun with a purpose.’” – Bob Eppler, AARP State President
