AARP Oklahoma Utility Teletown Hall Set for September 29, 2016

AARP Oklahoma is hosting a teletown hall on Thursday, September 29 at 10am to discuss the upcoming Corporation Commission ruling on the PSO electric rate increase request.  PSO has asked for, at last count, $137 million dollars from their customers.  This could mean increases in monthly bills by as much as 14%!  The teletown hall will be hosted by AARP Oklahoma State Director, Sean Voskuhl with Deborah Thompson, who represents AARP at the Commission in utility matters.

Pre-register at https://vekeo.com/event/aarpoklahoma-27504/

Watch the teletown hall on Facebook at www.facebook.com/aarpok

TAKE OUR FIVE MINUTE SURVEY AND TELL US WHAT YOU THINK OF THE PROPOSED RATE HIKES

AARP Oklahoma is the leading voice for the utility consumer in the state.  As many of you have seen while out knocking doors this summer, many of your constituents, of every age, are having trouble paying utility bills and generally making ends meet.  This is especially true for older Oklahomans on fixed incomes.  We want to help educate our members and the public at large about what they can do to help combat rising electric utility costs.  We hope you’ll join us for this special event.

Even if you don’t represent a district with PSO customers, we hope you’ll consider joining us, as we’ll be talking a bit about OG&E’s rate case, which is on track to be ruled on by the end of this year or a bit later, and we’ll discuss interim rates.  Those are rates that PSO and OG&E are imposing on customers RIGHT NOW as they await rulings from the Commission in their electricity rate cases.

We hope you can join us for this special event and if you have any questions please contact me at rnichols@aarp.org or call 405-715-4470.
