AARP to Testify at All Six State Budget Hearings

Brillion testifying

AARP Wisconsin will have a large red-shirted presence at all six state budget hearings across Wisconsin in April, and we welcome you to join and sit with our group of volunteer advocates if there is a hearing in your area that you plan to attend.

The Joint Finance Committee has scheduled the hearings to listen to comments from Wisconsinites who want to respond to the proposals included in Governor Walker’s proposed 2017-19 state budget.

In this budget cycle we will be thanking state legislators for their continued funding of the popular SeniorCare and Family Care programs, while asking for their continued support through any changes that are made to Medicaid.

We will ask members of the Joint Finance Committee to support additional resources that help family caregivers take care of loved ones in their own homes and communities. We will also ask for continued funding for the current dementia c are specialists and funding to expand the program statewide.

If you also believe these programs and services are important to Wisconsin, please join us at any of the budget hearings and we'll give you a red shirt to wear. You can register to attend the hearings either online or by calling toll free 1-877-926-8300. Please share this RSVP info with others. You do not need to be an AARP member to register or join us.
