Regardless of your choice of transportation or age, how safely and easily we’re able to get from one place to another has a major effect on our quality of life. This weekend, join AARP Minnesota for a conversation about it. On Saturday, October 28 th, we’re co-hosting a Mayoral forum on the subject of equitable and sustainable transportation.
Sometime this fall, let AARP Minnesota treat you to a beer and some fun. We’re partnering with local breweries for several AARP On Tap events, and we'd like you to join us. These events are great opportunities for those who want to meet and connect with other members, learn more about AARP, or simply enjoy a free brewery tour. Make sure to bring a non-perishable food donation, and we'll buy you a beer in exchange. We need your help fighting hunger in the Twin Cities, and this is a refreshing way to get involved. For more information, see the specific event and registration details below.
Fall is just around the corner, and so is this year's St. Paul Classic Bike Tour. On September 10th, thousands of people will ride their bikes in the streets of St. Paul, enjoying music and convenient rest stops along the way. This ride is a showcase for the pleasant scenery throughout St. Paul, including views of historic neighborhoods and dramatic overlooks of the Mississippi River. The tour appeals to many who dislike biking in traffic, and draws in solo riders, families, and large groups each year. Last year, riders' ages ranged from 0 to 89. AARP members ages 50+ who present ID will receive a discount on tickets this year. Those who register between now and August 30th will receive $5 off the regular price of $40. Those who register for same-day tickets will receive $5 off the regular price of $50. See the St. Paul Classic website to register and find out more details.

One could refer to Marcia Ballinger in many ways. Among other things, the Twin Cities native is an award-winning author, a Doctor of Organization and Management, the co-founder and principal of a search firm, and a French bulldog owner. In 2016, Ballinger earned an additional title when she was named one of Minnesota’s 50 Over 50 winners.
Join AARP Minnesota, Twin Cities Jazz, and host Freddie Bell for a night of entertainment and inspiration at the Capri Theater. Actress and advocate Holly Robinson Peete will share her personal story of balancing life as a family caregiver while working and raising a family.
In 2016 AARP Minnesota and Pollen launched Minnesota's first ever 50 Over 50 list. Journalist Seth Jovaag interviewed some of the honorees and we are re-sharing these stories as part of the nomination period for the 2017 50 Over 50 Minnesota list.
