Colorado’s first bilingual Tax-Aide site at Centro San Juan Diego, 2830 Lawrence St, is in its fifth year of offering tax preparation for Spanish speakers, or taxpayers who just feel more comfortable working with a tax preparer or volunteer in Spanish.

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is the nation’s largest free, volunteer-run tax preparation and assistance service. There are locations throughout the state to assist low- to moderate-income taxpayers.

Although Tax-Aide maintains a particular focus on people 50 and older, taxpayers do not have to be seniors to take advantage of the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program. Individuals of any age and families may seek out the assistance at no charge.

In 2015, AARP Foundation Tax-Aide had more than 35,000 volunteers at 6,100 sites across the nation. They provided 2.6 million people with free tax help. Taxpayers who used AARP Foundation Tax-Aide received more than $1.3 billion in income tax refunds and more than $228 million in Earned Income Tax Credits.

Last year, Colorado AARP Tax-Aide volunteers helped more than 28,000 people file their federal, state and local tax returns. The program is offered at approximately 53 sites in Colorado, including senior centers, libraries and other convenient locations.

For more information or to locate any AARP Foundation Tax-Aide site, call 1-888-AARPNOW (1-888-227-7669).
