Between work and family responsibilities, caregivers lead extremely busy and stressful lives. The number of issues they may face in a caregiving role can be daunting – from sorting through a web of insurance and financial issues, to arranging transportation and helping ensure health care needs are met and instructions followed.
At any given time, more than 364,000 Nevadans are serving as caregivers – including more than a third of residents over the age of 50. Recognizing the critical and complex roles that caregivers play – whether caring for an aging parent, a spouse or even a disabled child - AARP Nevada is hosting a series of Caregiver Connections events, designed to help those caring for family members connect with resources and experts to help navigate the difficult issues they face every day.
Caregiver Connections events will be held in both southern and northern Nevada, focusing on different topics throughout the year. These interactive sessions will include presentations by experts providing practical advice, valuable information and answers to your caregiving questions.
A schedule of upcoming Caregiver Connections topics and event dates is below. Visit this page to register for any upcoming session in your area, and to see the latest schedule updates.

On average, older people take four prescription medications each day. It’s a lot to keep track of – and the more drugs taken, the greater the potential for dangerous interactions. In this session, you’ll learn the important questions to ask your loved one’s doctor or pharmacist, how to create an easy-to-follow medication plan, what to do with expired drugs and more.
