Money & Work ST.PAUL — AARP Minnesota today unveiled a statewide survey that showed a growing concern over retirement savings in the Gopher State.  The survey engaged 1,000 Minnesotans over the age of 45 and found that 76 percent felt that they have not yet saved enough to retire and 72 percent support the idea of a state created retirement plan for those who lack access at their place of work. Money & Work That’s how many Minnesotans were kept out of poverty by Social Security income each year, on average, from 2010 to 2012, according to an AARP Public Policy Institute report. Of those, 264,000 were 65 or older. Nationally, Social Security kept more than 22 million people out of poverty; over 15 million were 65-plus.
