Help Other West Virginians File Their Tax Returns

Community AARP West Virginia is recruiting volunteers to help low- to moderate-income taxpayers, especially those age 60-plus, prepare and file their 2013 tax returns. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide started in 1968 with just four volunteers preparing 100 returns. Now the program serves 2.6 million Americans annually. Last year in West Virginia, 137 volunteers helped about 22,000 residents at 35 sites. Volunteers receive training and work close to home during the February-through-mid-April tax season.
