Volunteering Today we are thrilled to announced that Joel Rubin, 65, of Allouez (Green Bay area), has been appointed to a two-year term on our AARP Wisconsin Executive Council. The appointment was made by AARP Wisconsin State President Dave Stella. Joel (pictured) was a social worker for over 30 years in Milwaukee and in Northeast Wisconsin. Volunteering AARP Wisconsin is recruiting volunteers to help other state residents file returns in the tax season ahead. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide offers free face-to-face assistance to low- and moderate-income taxpayers, especially those age 60-plus, at convenient sites such as libraries and senior and community centers. Earlier this year, 865 volunteers helped more than 67,000 Wisconsinites file their returns. “Older adults on fixed incomes often cannot afford the cost of tax preparation services,” said Sam Wilson, AARP state director.
