Celebrate National Women’s Health Week - Special Teletown Hall on May 6

AARP is joining the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Hope Heart Institute and the Washington Dental Service Foundation in celebrating National Women’s Health Week. National Women’s Health Week kicks off on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10, and will be celebrated through Saturday, May 16, 2015.

National Women’s Health Week is a nationwide initiative that calls attention to the importance of women’s health and empowers women to take small, manageable steps for longer, healthier, happier lives.

On Wednesday, May 6, from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., the organizations will hold a teletown hall meeting for women across the state of Washington to talk about their health.  On the call women will get information about the importance of preventative screenings in the detection of heart disease, lung cancer, oral health and other conditions, and the connections between these health issues. The call will be interactive and participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and participate in live polling.
