Celebrating Service & Success: Jim Kimbrough, AARP Kentucky State President

jims-celebration

After more than a decade, our friend, mentor, and colleague, Jim Kimbrough is stepping down as AARP Kentucky State President.

Jim has worked to enhance the quality of life for Kentuckians of all ages and enact positive social change through advocacy and community service.

As state president, Jim fought to make health care more available and affordable, promoted financial security initiatives, and improved quality long term care options and supports for Kentuckians who want to age at home.

He engaged candidates and informed voters on issues of importance to older Kentuckians, raised the awareness of the needs and overdue recognition of veterans and their families, and highlighted the important contributions of grandparents across the Bluegrass State.

Widely respected, hugely admired and gifted with a remarkably warm personality, Jim is a self-described political junkie who provided his wisdom, friendship, and an unlimited supply of bourbon balls to the Kentucky State Office.

Jim’s lifelong commitment to working for the betterment of all people embodies the spirit of service that is at the core of the AARP mission. We thank Jim for his remarkable service to the members of AARP Kentucky. We look forward to continuing to work with him on other levels for many years to come.

Watch as we celebrate Jim Kimbrough's years of service and success as our State President!
