AARP Connecticut is hosting a free Work and Jobs event at the Norwalk Inn in Norwalk on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The workshop aims to provide the skills needed to find a job or change careers in the digital age.

“Even if you have years of experience, it is crucial to adapt to new realities to be successful in a job search today,” said Nora Duncan, AARP state director.

The sessions will be lively, interactive and fun. Participants can learn how to use improvisational techniques to build self-confidence. They also will get tips on how to create a personal brand and use social media like a pro. A photographer will be on-site for an hour before and after the workshop, offering participants an opportunity to get a free digital head shot to post on LinkedIn. Lunch will be provided, and registration is required.

To register, go to aarp.cvent.com/work2016 or call 866-740-6947 toll-free. If you recently searched for a job and can volunteer to discuss your experience and provide tips, email ctaarp@aarp.org.
