Cycling Without Age SmallHas it been a while since you’ve been on a bike? On March 15th, 2016 join AARP in Los Angeles from 10:00am to 12:30pm at the El Monte Senior Center at 3120 Tyler Avenue El Monte, CA 91731. Come experience the joys of bike riding once again! This event is being presented by Bike San Gabriel Valley (SGV), a local bike coalition, and Cycling Without Age, an organization which provides seniors with the opportunity to experience bike riding without having to pedal.

The aim of the event is to help people get back on bicycles regardless of mobility obstacles or inability to ride a bike.

Bike SGV will be premiering their new trishaw bikes, which have two seats in the front for passengers and one in the rear for a pilot. In addition to previewing these special bikes, attendees will also be able to take a test ride.

“We saw an opportunity to really engage older adults in active transportation,” said David Diaz, Bike SGV Programs Director. “We hear a lot of stories about experiences people had as kids, so we wanted to bring back some of those memories.”

Ole Kassow, Cycling Without Age founder, will be on hand to personally deliver the bikes and help officially launch the organization’s San Gabriel Valley Chapter. Other programming includes learning more about the history of the trishaw bikes, and outlining the positive impact biking can have on our communities for people of all ages.

It’s just like riding a bike!
