overwhelming support from both parties it has not been taken up in the House and the clock is ticking. With less than a month remaining, there is a real chance that this critically important bill won’t become law.

You can help make supporting family caregivers a priority for House leaders by signing our petition calling on the House to schedule a vote on the CARE Act.

Unpaid family caregivers are essential to the future of our rapidly aging state.  Today’s caregivers are being asked to perform more complicated medical tasks, often without proper training.  The CARE Act would require hospitals to better inform, support and train family caregivers when their loved ones are in the hospital.  The CARE Act has been passed into law in more than 20 states, has dozens of bipartisan sponsors and has already been approved in the Senate, but if a vote isn’t scheduled in the House in the next few weeks it will not become law.

It’s not too late for the CARE Act, but we need your help.  If 1,000 people sign this petition in the next week, House leaders will get the clear message that this is a priority.   You can help us by adding your name today!
