A Forum of Advice & Resources for the Encore Entrepreneur

Are you thinking about starting or growing a small business? Are you over 50 years old? If so, you are what we call an "Encore Entrepreneur."

AARP Connecticut and the Small Business Administration (SBA) will host a free educational and networking seminar, with free dinner, for the Encore Entrepreneur at the Norwalk Inn & Conference Center on Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 6 p.m.

Attendees of the interactive event – open to people of all ages with a special focus on the “Encore Entrepreneur” individual who is aged 50 and over – will receive free dinner, hear personal experiences and lessons learned from people who have launched small businesses, have opportunities to network, and gather valuable resources from Connecticut-based organizations that can assist in directing them towards the right steps in building a small business.

Seating is limited so advance registration is required

Growing older doesn’t necessarily mean slowing down. According to a recent Huffington Post story, although encore “entrepreneurs have always been around, there’s been a noticeable increase in the number of seniors starting and growing new businesses.”
