FREE Shredding at The Fourteenth Health and Wellness Fair in Richmond.

Every two seconds someone’s identity is stolen. Shredding confidential documents you no longer need is one good way to protect yourself, and the AARP Fraud Watch Network wants to help.

Bring any confidential documents, and we’ll shred them for free. It only takes a few minutes and can save you lots of headaches later on. Each individual may bring up to 2 file boxes of paperwork to be shredded. Registration is not required to use the shred truck, its open to all and free of charge.

The AARP Richmond North Chapter is hosting The Fourteenth Health and Wellness Fair this Fall at The G.R.A.C.E Center at Fifth Street Baptist Church. This event, which is open to the public, will be held at the G.R.A.C.E. Center of Fifth Street Baptist Church, 1302 Victor Street, Richmond, Virginia 23222 on Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. for registration. A $5.00 per person fee is required to cover lunch and must be returned with your 2017 Health Fair registration form by October 12, 2017.

The theme this year is “HEALTHCARE: Where Do We Go From Here”.  There will be speakers to discuss issues pertaining to our theme.  Also, several exhibitors will be available to answer questions and provide printed literature on various topics of interest.  Free blood pressure check will be available as well as door prizes will be offered.

An IVNA nurse will provide flu immunizations.  This year, they will administer the Quadrivalent vaccine and the High Dose vaccine. The Quadrivalent vaccine contains four strains of the flu vaccine-the two standard human-to-human strains and both animal-to-animal strains.  This vaccine provides the patient with better coverage against more flu viruses.  IVNA is able to offer the Quadrivalent vaccine for $35.00 per shot this year.  The High Dose vaccine is the flu vaccine recommended for persons over 65 years of age.  IVNA will be able to offer the High Dose vaccine for $60.00 per shot.  Both vaccines are covered by Medicare Part B or other Medicare replacement insurance.  Payment options are self-pay, insurance billing or Medicare Part B billing. If paying by insurance, one will need to present their insurance card, along with a copy, front and back, for IVNA billing department and if 65 or older, bring your Medicare card.
