Smartphones, computers, social media—the world seems to be moving toward these communication platforms at a breakneck speed. How can you keep up? (Attendees of Session 1 will be served breakfast.)

Session 2, 10:15-11:45 am: “Grassroots Advocacy: Becoming an “Armchair Advocate”

Join AARP Maryland’s Advocacy Director, Tammy Bresnahan, to learn about how you can make an impact on Maryland’s laws—simply by and using your computer or smartphone device becoming an “armchair advocate”|
(Attendees of Sessions 2 and 3 will be served lunch.)

Session 3, 1-3 pm: “Show, Don’t Tell: Telling a Story with Digital Photography”
Like using a camera? Want to learn how to tell a great story with it? AARP’s Communications team will show you how to be an “on-the-ground digital reporter” using only your smartphone camera! Bring events to life in photos and learn how to frame a shot, what not to do when taking a photo, and how to use social media channels like Instagram to showcase your work.

Attendees are encouraged to sign up for as many sessions as they want, while spots are still available. To register, contact Mike Kulick at 410-895-7604.
