Living safely involves more than keeping streets crime-free. It also means steering clear of scammers online.

AARP Georgia will help on both fronts by hosting a National Night Out in Macon-Bibb on Tuesday, Aug. 2, with presentations across the city from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. AARP volunteers will join with police officers, firefighters and local officials to promote safe, livable neighborhoods and to inform people how to identify and avoid scams by using resources available through the AARP Fraud Watch Network.

The Aug. 2 events support Macon-Bibb’s participation in the AARP Network of Age-Friendly Communities. For more information, go to aarp.org/macon-bibb and fraudwatch
