It’s a Weston Observatory Foliage Viewing!

Manchester Historic Association is back with another opportunity to climb to the top of the Weston Observatory!  And on Saturday, October 3, from 10:00 to 4:00, AARP members and a guest receive $5 off the $10 admission fee!

Normally closed to the public, the Weston Observatory will be open during peak foliage season. Picnic tables are available, so bring a lunch and come enjoy the beauty of foliage while experiencing Manchester’s best-kept secrets! (Unfortunately, the Observatory is not accessible for people in wheelchairs or who have walking disabilities.)

Located behind Derryfield Park, Weston Observatory was built in 1896 in honor of James Adams Weston, a former Mayor of Manchester and Governor of New Hampshire.  The tower stands 66 feet tall, giving an exquisite view of Manchester and the surrounding areas from its observation deck. The tower was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

The grounds boast hiking trails with breathtaking views of the city of Manchester.  In addition to its aesthetic appeal, the observatory is also rich in Manchester history. Limited parking will be available in front of the Weston Observatory off of Oak Hill Avenue. For directions, click here.

AARP members must show their membership card to receive the $5 discount. Sorry, but the AARP member discount cannot be combined with the MHA member discount.
