Johns Hopkins Study on Dementia Now Recruiting Participants

0000016b-01ac-dd13-abeb-61efcbce0000Enrollment is ending! Last chance to participate!

It should be no surprise that AARP is actively involved in the fight against dementia-related illnesses. A new opportunity to fight these diseases is now available here in Maryland.

The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is enrolling eligible persons in the MIND at Home Study (Maximizing Independence at Home) for people with dementia or memory problems and their caregivers, who live in their homes in Baltimore City or the surrounding counties.

The MIND at Home Study* is a home-based care coordination program. The goal of this study is to help persons with memory disorders remain safely in their own homes, for as long as possible, while increasing the quality of life for both the caregiver and the person with dementia

In addition to a memory care assessment by the MIND team, comprised of a physician, memory care coordinator and a nurse, eligible participants may also receive specialized care coordination for 18 months.

To sign up for the MIND study, call 410-550-6744 or email the MIND team at mindathome@jhmi.edu. You can also download this mind-flyer-october2016 flier for more information.
