Join us Sept. 11 for the AARP Day of Service

AARP Alabama volunteers at a recent school clean-up project in Birmingham.

September 11 is a national day of service for AARP and organizations across the country to honor the victims and heroes of September 11, 2001. This year, several AARP chapters and the state office staff will be participating in projects that benefit their communities.

Please join the effort and donate a few hours to help others and meet new folks along the way.

AARP Alabama staff will be volunteering with E.A.T.  South Farms, an urban farm in Montgomery, and with the AARP Montgomery Chapter at the Montgomery Area Food Bank, where we’ll also tour the new facility.

The Talladega Chapter is gathering items to present to residents at a local nursing home. The Mobile Chapter will be helping the VIA Center spruce up its meeting room.

If you’d like to join one of these projects please contact Anne Hails: ahails@aarp.org
