AARP Ohio Meet & Greet events connect members to special places and people. Fall activities include educational and architectural tours of Cincinnati Museum Center, William Howard Taft National Historic Site, Harriet Beecher Stowe House, Plum Street Temple, Cathedral of St. Peter in Chains, and recreational activities at Mount Airy Forest.

Tour of Harriet Beecher Stowe House & William Howard Taft National Historic Site

We’ll tour the former residences of Stowe, an important 19th century novelist, and Taft, 27th president of the United States, to learn how their experiences in Cincinnati influenced their voice and leadership.

Tour of Plum Street Temple & Saint Peter in Chains Cathedral

Temple: 720 Plum St., Cincinnati 45202;

Join us for an architectural tour of two of Cincinnati’s most historic and revered houses of worship. The Isaac M. Wise Temple, formerly Plum Street Temple, is the historic synagogue erected in 1865. Saint Peter in Chains was begun with the laying of its cornerstone in May 1841 and formally dedicated on November 2, 1845. Both facilities were selected for the National Register of Historic Places.

Discover another Cincinnati National Historic Landmark — Union Terminal. Learn about the construction, architecture and art of one of the finest examples of Art Deco style. A docent will offer details about the world-famous mosaic murals and you’ll visit the Cincinnati Union Terminal President’s Office, today’s Amtrak waiting room and the Rookwood Tea Room.

Brisk, Guided Walking Tour at Mt. Airy Forest

Join us for a brisk, guided fall walking tour. Mt. Airy’s specialty gardens, gazebos and picturesque lake are a favorite to take in fall colors. Established in1911, the 1,459 acre park is one of the earliest urban reforestation project in the U.S.
