access to the books they want to read. .  The idea behind Little Free Library is to promote literacy and community-building by supporting book exchanges.

The first Little Free Library (LFL) in Washington D.C. is now giving and receiving books at an outdoor kiosk at Grace Church, 1041 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington, DC.  The Little Free Library will encourage relationship development, sharing of ideas, and literacy among the Georgetown Ministry Center guests, attendees of the school and services held in the church, as well as the surrounding community members that frequent the picturesque grounds of Grace Church.

Working with the staff and guests of the Georgetown Ministry Center (GM),  the kiosk was erected on Wednesday, April 3rd. This is the result of a coordinated effort with AARP Foundation grantee Little Free Library,  the AARP District of Columbia State Office, The Georgetown Ministry Center (GM and Grace Church in Georgetown.  More on the Center at  http://georgetownministrycenter.org/, and on Grace Church in Georgetown at http://www.gracedc.org /.  To request a Little Free Library in your neighborhood, contact the AARP Foundation at             (202) 434-3203 or p deloach@aarp.org.
