“Health care and especially health care coverage is complicated,” said Sarah Jennings, State Director for AARP South Dakota. “It’s important for consumers to understand current health care issues, any changes that are being implemented right now, and any proposed changes that are being discussed by our leaders in Congress.”
AARP South Dakota and South Dakota Public Broadcasting explored a variety of health care issues from the Affordable Care Act, to proposed changes in Medicare in a special program, “Making Sense of Health Care”.
“We know South Dakotans have questions,” said Jennings. “This program provided viewers an opportunity to ask panel of local experts, from the medical field, to advocate organizations, and a Marketplace Navigator to get answers cut through the clutter with factual information.”
During the broadcast, AARP South Dakota will invited members to participate in a Telephone Townhall, which will simulcasted the televised program via telephone.
“We wanted to give as many people as possible the opportunity to ask questions, and get the information they need to make informed, wise health care decisions for themselves, and their families.”
