A home gardens tour, a moonlit walk and a celebrated author’s talk are among the local events AARP Maine is offering this summer.

Stroll through the hidden gardens of Portland’s Munjoy Hill neighborhood on Sunday, July 9. The first 75 people to sign up receive free admission.

Walk the Eastern Trail by the light of a full moon Monday, Aug. 7, and learn about its flora and fauna from Carole Brush, director of the Eastern Trail Alliance.

Listen to best-selling author Christina Baker-Kline, a part-time resident of the Maine coast, as she discusses her new book on Tuesday, Aug. 8, at the Bangor Public Library. The book, A Piece of the World, tells the story of artist Andrew Wyeth’s muse.
