Get in touch with your community by walking

How is Charlotte preparing to meet the needs of its ever-growing population of older adults? This week on “Without Limits,” you’ll meet Claire Apaliski of the UNC-Charlotte Urban Institute.

Some characteristics of great places to live for aging adults include walk-ability and social connection. Learn more about an effort underway in Charlotte called “City Walks,” a series of free neighborhood walks—walking conversations—that put people in touch with their community and their neighbors.

Hosts Mike Olender and David Gwilt take a deeper look at this program and will talk with Claire Apaliski about a number of City Walk activities taking place in May. They also discuss other initiatives of the Urban Institute that help Charlotte better prepare for its continued growth.
