Memory Clinic Staged by Kansas City Area Volunteer Team

More than 160 individuals participated in an interactive brain game room, nutrition and exercise classes, and other activities during the Brain Health “Memory Clinic” that was held on November 8, 2014 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. The clinic, free and open to those 18 and older, was held at the Mary L. Kelly Community Center in Kansas City.

“The clinic was designed to be interactive, fun and engaging,” said Tonya Holmes, AARP Missouri Team leader. “We wanted individuals to join us for a free event that would also be educational.” Holmes explained that participants learned about cognitive fitness and what brain research can tell about the characteristics of successful brain aging that impacts the quality of life.
