“Social Security is the bedrock of financial security for most older Granite Staters,” said Todd Fahey, AARP state director. “It provides at least half of household income for 64 percent of New Hampshire residents age 65 and older. And without Social Security, about 45 percent of the state’s older residents would be living in poverty.”
