Long-time AARP Oklahoma volunteer Gerrie Cordes, who currently serves as vice president of the Custer County Chapter, was nominated for AARP’s annual Chapter and Unit Community Service Award. The award is given on behalf of AARP and NRTA (National Retired Teacher’s Association) to a person providing the most outstanding service to the community through a chapter or unit-sponsored service project in 2013. Gerrie will receive a pin commemorating her nomination for this prestigious award. She has previously served as president of the Custer County Chapter, is a member of the AARP Oklahoma 770 Team and is a past recipient of the AARP Oklahoma Legacy Award. She is always willing to go above and beyond to help other people in her community and is an important part of AARP’s work in Oklahoma. Congratulations Gerrie!
