AARP Maine has issued its 2013 legislative summary of key issues affecting Mainers age 50-plus.
The report summarizes progress on bills dealing with long-term care, health care and livable communities. In addition, it highlights restoration of full funding for the Drugs for the Elderly and Disabled Program and the Medicare Savings Program, which together benefit more than 80,000 residents.
“Thanks to the efforts of AARP volunteer advocates, we were able to ensure continued funding for programs that help people stay in their own homes and communities as they age,” said Rich Livingston, AARP state president.
