With open enrollment under way in the health insurance marketplace, AARP Utah is warning state residents about possible new scams. Con artists may seek ways to obtain personal information or charge fees for “helping” people enroll.

AARP cautions members to beware of anyone asking for financial, health, Social Security or other personal information. Each state has trained navigators to provide free help on how to use the marketplace.

To find navigators, compare insurance plans and enroll for individual or family coverage, go to healthcare.gov or call 800-318-2596. For more information, go to healthlawanswers.org.
