Sederburg praises AARP long-term care Scorecard

Kari Sederburg

The Michigan Office of Services to the Aging (OSA) Director Kari Sederburg issued the following statement on the AARP 2014 State Long-Term Services and Supports Scorecard results for the state of Michigan:

"I want to thank AARP for its great work and thoughtful assessment of Michigan’s long-term care supports and services system.

“While the scorecard does not include many of the positive steps Michigan has taken the past few years to increase access to and improve the quality of supports and services, it still serves as a good reminder to us all that more needs to be done.

“This is especially true for Michigan’s family caregivers, the backbone of the state’s long-term care supports and services system. That is why the governor challenged Michigan businesses in his recent special message on aging to embrace policies that help family caregivers strike the delicate balance between responsibilities at work and at home.

“We look forward to working with AARP Michigan and our partners in the aging network to continue to make positive steps that will make Michigan an even better place to live as we age.”
