Tangles is a dynamic play that tells the story of a family during one pivotal night as they come to terms with their roles as sons, daughters, and siblings living with an aging family member who has dementia. Through music, media, and a dynamic design, the production shows how memories and the past are interconnected in ways that both fragment and bring together families in the toughest moments.
In Tangles, the loving bond between an older woman and her granddaughter reflects the social reality of non-traditional family structures and shows how strength and resiliency can emerge despite the devastating disease. This production uniquely fuses traditional theatrical storytelling with medical research. Tangles will be followed by a discussion focused on finding solutions and new paths of empowerment for patients, providers, and families.
