Tele-Town Hall Focuses on HB1013 -Why Nurse Practitioners Should Have the Authority to Heal

AARP Oklahoma is hosting a tele-town hall on Tuesday, March 21 at 10am CST. The tele-town hall will focus on House Bill 1013 which gives nurse practitioners more authority to heal. HB1013 increases Oklahomans’ access to health care, take steps toward addressing the shortage of primary health care providers, and supports the 524,000 caregivers in our state.

AARP OK supports granting nurse practitioners the freedom to practice to the full extent of their education and training and 87 percent of Oklahomans agree, according to a SoonerPoll survey. Nurse practitioners have the education, training and skills to provide much needed primary care- especially in rural areas which are underserved.

AARP OK State Director Sean Voskuhl is hosting the tele-town hall with special guest Toni Pratt-Reid, president of the Association of Oklahoma Nurse Practitioners.
