Volunteer Network Meeting in Boise

NKA Volunteers

Are you looking for ways to make a difference in our community and “give back”, particularly to your fellow 50+ Gem Staters? If so, we would love to share how AARP Idaho is working to ensure that Idaho residents have choice, control and independence through every stage of their lives. Please join us for a volunteer team building workshop at our Boise office.

What else can you expect?

We will still offer the new member orientation at 1:15PM before each regular meeting for 45 minutes. Our regular meeting for all volunteers will last from 2:00 to 3:00 PM. The meeting will always highlight a professional development piece. As a new element, we are adding a social from 3:00 to 4:00 for network attendees at a nearby restaurant. We will host non-alcoholic drinks (one per person) and appetizers. This is our way of saying thank you for the work you have done in the last month as well as taking the chance to get to know each of you a bit better.

When is the next meeting?

The next meeting of the AARP Volunteer Network will be September 6 th. This is a Wednesday—a change from our normal Thursday time. Our professional development will be about our Movies for Grownups program. There will be an opportunity to learn how movie selections are made, what it takes to put on this program, what is expected from volunteers, and participate in a roundtable discussion on how to improve this popular program. After the meeting we will be heading over to Bardenays, 610 West Grove Street, if you have time to join us.

Let us know you are coming!

Although you are always welcome, it is always nice to know which of our friends are planning to join us. Please register for the meeting here.

On behalf of the Idaho AARP Team, thank you for being a volunteer. We are always open to any suggestions you might have to make this network better. We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting on September 6 th.
