CarShare Vermont is making it easier for AARP members in Burlington and Winooski to drive whenever they want without owning a car.

Beginning this month, the nonprofit organization is waiving its $30 application fee for AARP members. Those who join will have access to a fleet of neighborhood-based vehicles, including a truck and minivan, making it easy to run errands or enjoy a day trip in the mountains. Daily or hourly rates and standard mileage apply.

Some Vermonters would rather walk or take public transit than drive, and some are moving to urban areas where owning a car is not a necessity. Car sharing provides convenient transportation without the costs of ownership.

To apply, go to carsharevt.org and use promo code CSVT2017.
