AARP South Dakota is hitting the road this
summer to give South Dakotans age 50 and older a chance to weigh in on plans to strengthen Social Security and Medicare.
Among the proposals backed by AARP is a bill that would require pharmaceutical manufacturers to provide rebates to people receiving the Medicare Part D low-income subsidy. AARP also is speaking out against using a lower estimate of inflation for cost-of-living increases to Social Security benefits.
In addition to 11 You’ve Earned a Say events around the state, AARP will be on hand at DakotaFest in Mitchell Aug. 20-22 and the South Dakota State Fair on Aug. 29 in Huron.
