WILL PHILLIPS NAMED AARP MINNESOTA STATE DIRECTOR

AARP announced today that Will Phillips has been named State Director of AARP Minnesota.  There are nearly 700,000 AARP members in Minnesota and thousands of volunteers who work on advocacy, community service and education efforts on behalf of those over the age of 50.  AARP Minnesota is based in St. Paul, with a volunteer information center at the Mall of America.

Will Phillips
Will Phillips has worked with AARP for more than nine years in various capacities.  Prior to being named Minnesota State Director, he managed multi-state and national advocacy campaigns including AARP’s efforts to protect affordable and reliable utility service and You’ve Earned a Say, AARP’s national conversation about the future of Social Security and Medicare.  Before that, Will was Associate State Director for Advocacy for AARP Georgia.

“AARP is very excited to announce Will Phillips as our new State Director in Minnesota,” said Bruce Koeppl, AARP’s Midwest Regional Vice President.  “He brings a diverse background in grassroots advocacy and a passion for working on behalf of the 50+ population.  AARP is proud to have a strong network of members, volunteers and staff in Minnesota and Will is a great addition to that team.”

Prior to joining AARP in 2005, Phillips worked for a number of non-profits in the state of Indiana focusing on affordable utility services and long term care rebalancing. He is a graduate of Butler University.
