Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter presented Ms. Annie Moore with the Family Caregiver of the Year Award during the 30th Anniversary Summit for the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving in Americus, Ga.
AARP Georgia Executive Council member Myrtle Habersham served as one of the speakers at the summit and addressed the topic of “Support Services to Caregivers in their Local Communities.”
The Rosalynn Carter Institute is a national conference that was held on the campus of Georgia Southwestern University. After three decades, the Institute is still making an impact. Hundreds of attendees from throughout the United States and Korea were part of this three-day training conference and anniversary celebration.
Macon-Bibb AARP volunteers/Middle Georgia CARE-NET Coalition members Leesa Rickman, Mary Whitfield and James Whitfield also attended the ceremony.
The Middle Georgia attendees agreed that the summit provided a great learning and networking experience that will be helpful in planning future outreach and educational initiatives for caregivers.
Thank you for making this an outstanding event!
