Caregiver Event Offers Chance to Socialize, Relax

Senior and young holding hands

AARP Kansas is hosting a Caregiver Cafe to give caregivers and those they look after a way to relax and take a break from routine.

The cafe will be held Tuesday, March 19, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Atwater Neighborhood Resource Center, 2755 E. 19th St. North, in Wichita.

Those who attend can socialize, compare experiences and try a fun, creative and free activity: flower arranging.

A flower arranger will be on-site to help participants create their own arrangements, which they can take home. There also will be live music.

AARP Kansas is planning other cafes throughout the state later in the year. Kansas is home to 345,000 family caregivers.

The event is free, but registration is required. Go to aarp.cvent .com/CaregiverCafeMar19 or call 877-926-8300.
