“Tax-Aide is one of the hallmark programs of AARP Foundation. Last year AARP Foundation Tax-Aide helped California residents secure over $94 million in income tax refunds and nearly $19 million in Earned Income Tax Credits (EITCs),” said Nancy McPherson, AARP CA State Director.

In 2015, AARP Foundation

Tax-Aide’s 35,000 volunteers have provided 2.6 million people with free tax help. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide volunteers are trained and IRS-certified each year to ensure their knowledge of revisions to the U.S. tax code. Taxpayers who used AARP Foundation Tax-Aide received $1.3 billion in income tax refunds and more than $250 million in Earned Income Tax Credits (EITCs).

Last year, 2,939 AARP Foundat
