will discuss available valuable resources.

Highlights from the day include a presentation from Nancy Pitra, a Georgia Legal Aid attorney, who will provide information about obtaining a Power of Attorney; examples of how to prevent POA abuse by John Melvin, Chief Assistant District Attorney for Cobb County Georgia, and Jason Marbutt, Chairperson of the Northeast Georgia/Cobb Elder Abuse Taskforce.

“Having a plan in place before a significant life-changing event can help minimize any confusion during a difficult time,” said AARP Advocacy Manager Melissa Sinden, who also will facilitate a Q & A session. “We at AARP aim to provide tools that may help people become more informed about their rights.”
