ing exclusive early access to the biggest Hollywood blockbusters.  This privilege isn’t just reserved for the Hollywood elite, but rather a benefit offered to many AARP members around the country.

AARP’s Movies for Grownups screening program invites members to free exclusive screenings of the latest major motion pictures in their own communities.

“Movies for Grown Ups is an amazing AARP program that brings great films to our members in their own communities.  Who doesn’t love a free night out at the movies?”-Mike Festa, AARP Massachusetts State Director.

The screening program champions and promotes films with a unique appeal to audiences with a grownup state of mind.  In 2017, AARP organized screenings of 29 films for a total of 666 nationwide screenings and over 90,000 attendees.

Screenings included Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Hidden Figures, Jackie, The Zookeeper’s Wife and Victoria & Abdul.

The screening program is just a part of AARP’s Movies for Grownups initiative, which began in 2002 as a regular feature in AARP The Magazine covering movies featuring with older actors or storylines that resonated with older audiences.   Over the years, the initiative has expanded to include regular content in print, online, radio and social media outlets. AARP also hosts an annual star-studded award show in Los Angeles.

Visit the Movies for Grownups site to learn more about the gala and the winner of the 2018 Career Achievement Award.

And visit this site to sign up for emails from AARP, so that you might be eligible for an invitation to a free movie screening in your community.
